Varappuzha Map Poster & Print
Varappuzha lies just north of Kochi in Kerala, in a landscape where the arms of the Periyar River and the backwaters divide the land into islands and narrow strips. On the map, water takes up as much space as land. Houses line the banks, lanes follow the shores, and fields and coconut groves fill the gaps between channels.
The town's name is known far beyond Kerala in its older form, Verapoly. It was the seat of a historic Catholic mission and archdiocese, whose title is still carried by the Archdiocese of Verapoly based in Ernakulam. Today, Varappuzha is also a link on the main road north from Kochi, which crosses the water on long bridges.
That mix of water and settlement is well suited to a monochrome print. The Varappuzha map poster shows the channels as bold, open shapes, with the fine lines of roads and footpaths tracing the land between them. The bridges connect it all. The result looks almost like a drawing of an archipelago, even though it sits right on the edge of a major city.

Highway bridges
The main road north from Kochi crosses the water on bridges. They draw straight lines across the curved channels and tie the separate banks together.
Waterside lanes
Narrow lanes run along the banks, with houses and groves between them. On the map they create a fine, closely spaced edge around every stretch of water.

Anyone from the Kochi area knows how much water shapes daily life here, and this map shows it clearly. It makes a meaningful gift for families connected to Verapoly, or for Keralites living in the Gulf and elsewhere who miss the backwaters.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line, for example with a parish name, a wedding date or a house address. Choose one of five styles; Blueprint and Noir are especially striking with this much water. Printed posters come on matte paper, with a wooden frame as an option.
