Wangu is a town in the western part of the Chongqing municipality, in the hilly farmland of the Sichuan Basin. The landscape here is rarely flat: low hills, narrow valleys and terraced fields shape where roads and buildings can go, and the map shows a settlement fitted carefully into the available ground rather than laid out on a grid.
