Zherdevka is a town in the south-east of Tambov Oblast in Russia, in the fertile black-earth country of the Central Russian plain. The land around it is mostly open fields, and at poster scale it forms a near-empty backdrop. The town sits in that openness as a compact, clearly defined settlement.
