Jask lies on Iran's southeastern coast in Hormozgan province, on a small cape reaching into the Gulf of Oman east of the Strait of Hormuz. From above, the town sits on a low, flat spit of land. The sea curves around it, and a long, empty shoreline runs east and west, backed by arid plains and distant hills.
The Jask map poster is defined by its coastline. The cape gives the town an unusual outline, water wraps around much of the built-up area, and the streets are set out on a fairly regular plan between the shore and the airport and port facilities.
