Avdiyivka is a town in Donetsk Oblast, in eastern Ukraine, just north of the city of Donetsk. Its map records a typical industrial town of the region: an older, low-rise area of private houses, a district of Soviet-era apartment blocks and, to the north, the large coke and chemical plant around which much of the town grew. Railway lines and roads connect all three.
The coke plant was among the largest in Europe and dominates the northern edge of the map with its sidings and industrial grounds. Since 2014 the town was close to the front line, and in 2024, after long fighting, it was largely destroyed. The streets on the map show the town as it was laid out and as many former residents remember it.
