Borj Cedria lies on the south-eastern coast of Greater Tunis, in Ben Arous governorate, beyond Hammam Lif. From above, the shoreline of the Gulf of Tunis forms its seaward edge: a long, soft curve of beach. Inland, the land rises toward the hills around Jebel Bou Kornine, whose two-horned peak is a landmark of the southern suburbs.
The built-up area follows the coast in a loose band. Holiday homes and residential streets are laid out near the sea, and newer developments sit further back. Borj Cedria is home to a major science and technology park, the Technopole de Borj Cédria. It also has a German war cemetery from the Second World War, set on quiet ground outside the town.
