Dayr Ḩāfir lies on the broad, flat plain east of Aleppo in northern Syria, in a landscape of cultivated fields and scattered villages. From above, the town is a compact cluster of low buildings and streets, arranged around the roads that meet here and lead toward Aleppo and other towns of the region.
