Fenghua Map Poster & Print
Fenghua lies in Zhejiang province, south of central Ningbo, and has been one of the city's districts since 2016. The urban centre spreads across a flat, fertile plain crossed by rivers and canals that drain north toward Ningbo. Around it the land rises into wooded hills and valleys. On a map a dense town grid gives way to farmland and then to contour-hugging roads.
The area is widely known as the ancestral home of Chiang Kai-shek, whose family came from the town of Xikou in the hills to the west. Nearby Xuedou Mountain is a Buddhist site associated with Maitreya, where a very large bronze Maitreya statue now stands. Fenghua is also famous for its honey peaches, grown in orchards across the surrounding valleys.
