Kapenguria is the administrative seat of West Pokot County, set in the green highlands of north-western Kenya. The name carries weight in Kenyan history. In 1952 and 1953 the colonial government tried Jomo Kenyatta and five fellow nationalists here, a case remembered as the trial of the Kapenguria Six.
