Novi Beograd Map Poster & Print
Novi Beograd was built largely after the Second World War on the marshy land across the Sava from old Belgrade. It is one of Europe's clearest examples of modernist planning. From above, it is a large grid of superblocks, numbered rather than named, with wide boulevards, apartment towers and open green space between them.
Water frames it on two sides: the Sava to the east and the Danube to the north, with the confluence just across from the Belgrade Fortress. Branko's Bridge and the Gazela Bridge link it to the old city. Landmarks include the Palace of Serbia, the Ušće tower and the Western City Gate, also known as the Genex Tower.

Branko's Bridge and the Gazela Bridge cross the Sava to the old city. They are clear, straight connections between two very different street patterns.
