Osuna stands in the province of Seville, rising from the olive groves and wheat fields of the Andalusian campiña. From above, its oldest landmarks crown a hill: the Collegiate Church and the former university, both founded under the Dukes of Osuna in the sixteenth century. Below them, the town spreads down the slope in narrow streets that open into squares and lead to the flat countryside beyond.
Osuna is known for its baroque palaces and grand townhouses, especially along its most elegant streets, which reflect the wealth of the ducal family. More recently, the town's bullring appeared in the television series Game of Thrones, which brought new visitors to see a place that had already drawn travellers for its architecture.
