Pubal, usually written Bubal, is a town within Icheon in eastern Gyeonggi-do. Much of the area around it is rice paddies and low hills, but the map is dominated by one large feature: the Icheon campus of the chipmaker SK hynix. Its fabs and halls form an unusually large block of geometry beside the town.
Bubal is also a rail junction. The Gyeonggang Line from Pangyo toward Yeoju crosses the Jungbu Naeryuk Line here, so railway lines meet at Bubal station and head off in different directions. Roads follow the flat valley floors and connect the town with central Icheon.
