Shāhedshahr lies in Tehran Province, on the broad plain west of the capital in the Shahriar area. From above, much of the town has a clear, regular layout: straight streets meeting at right angles, blocks of similar size and main roads defining its edges. Farmland and orchards surround the built-up area.
