Sumag is a barangay of Bacolod City, on the northwestern coast of Negros Island in the Western Visayas. It lies south of the city centre, along the shore facing the Guimaras Strait. On a map the coastline forms one clear edge, with the neighbourhood's streets spreading inland from the water.
The layout mixes older roads running parallel to the coast with newer residential subdivisions further inland. Each subdivision has its own short grid or loop of streets. Beyond the built-up area, the flat land of Negros Occidental was long dominated by sugarcane, and the map thins out in that direction.
