Talinding is part of the continuous built-up area that stretches inland from the Gambian coast, close to Serrekunda and within easy reach of Banjul. On a map it has no single centre. Instead, the street network is a dense mesh of short lanes and compound plots, broken now and then by a wider road that carries traffic through the district.
This pattern is typical of the fast-growing towns of the Kombo area, where neighbourhoods have filled in plot by plot over recent decades. From above, the lines are fine and close together.
