Thiadiaye is a town in the Mbour department of Thiès Region in western Senegal, inland from the Petite Côte beaches. From above, the town is a spread of sandy streets, many laid out in rough blocks, around a main road that carries traffic through the region. Compounds and courtyards give the residential areas a fine, cellular texture.
The countryside is flat and open, part of Senegal's groundnut basin, where millet and groundnuts have long been the main crops.
