Vidyavihar Map Poster & Print
Vidyavihar is the campus township of the Birla Institute of Technology and Science in Pilani, in the Shekhawati region of Rajasthan. On a map it looks very different from the town beside it: straight, planned avenues, rectangular hostel blocks, sports fields and open quads laid out on a clear, symmetrical plan.
The institute grew from educational foundations established by the Birla family in Pilani in the early twentieth century and became BITS in 1964. The campus includes a landmark clock tower and a marble temple dedicated to Saraswati, the goddess of learning, both well known to generations of students.
A Vidyavihar map poster is really a portrait of a campus: the main building, the hostel rows, the long roads between them and the dry country around. For alumni, it is a precise map of years spent studying, walking and living in one place.

Hostel rows
Student residences are arranged in regular clusters across the campus, forming repeated shapes that many alumni can still name from memory.
Semi-arid surroundings
Beyond the campus edge, the land opens into the dry plains of Shekhawati, leaving calm empty space around the planned grid.
