Xonobod lies in Uzbekistan's Andijan Region, at the eastern edge of the Fergana Valley, close to the border with Kyrgyzstan. From above, it sits where the flat valley floor begins to rise into foothills. Streets fill the lower ground, while the slopes beyond remain open. Water channels carry mountain streams down to the fields that surround the town.
The Fergana Valley is one of the most densely farmed areas of Central Asia, and the land around Xonobod shows it: a fine web of canals, orchards and cultivated plots fills the space between settlements.
