The town has grown where local roads meet, so its densest streets cluster around these routes before spreading outward.

Bale Hawassa Map Poster & Print
Bale Hawassa lies in the South Ethiopia Regional State, in the densely farmed highlands of the country's south. The surrounding landscape is rolling and green, divided into small family plots, with homesteads scattered among fields and trees. From above, the town appears as a concentration of streets and buildings where local roads come together, thinning into rural paths at the edges.
Towns in this part of Ethiopia serve as market and service centres for large rural populations, and their plans grow outward along main roads. Much of the map beyond the centre is made up of tracks and footpaths linking farms, which gives the drawing a fine, net-like texture quite different from a planned city grid.
A Bale Hawassa map poster reflects that organic structure. The centre gathers along its main routes, while the lines around it branch and fade into the countryside. It is a modest, honest picture of a highland town, and for people with family ties to the area it offers a specific and personal view of home.

Highland farmland
Small cultivated plots and homesteads surround the town, filling the map with a fine, irregular pattern of paths and boundaries.
Organic outline
Rather than a strict grid, the town's edge follows roads and terrain, giving it a loose shape that blends into the countryside.
