Dukuria Map Poster & Print
Dukuria is a densely settled locality in Dhaka Division, Bangladesh, at the south-western edge of the capital close to the Buriganga river. It belongs to the wider urban region that has spread outward from old Dhaka across low, flat land shaped by water. From above it shows as a closely packed grain of small blocks and narrow lanes, broken by the lines of creeks and river channels.
Life in this part of greater Dhaka is closely tied to the river, which has served as a route for boats, trade and industry for centuries. Like many neighbourhoods around the capital, the area has grown quickly as people arrived from the countryside, and its map records that growth in tightly spaced streets and buildings that fill almost every available plot.
A Dukuria map poster turns that density into a detailed, almost woven texture. Thin lines of lanes run between the blocks, larger roads cross the area towards the city centre, and the river and water channels appear as clean open forms. For people with roots here, it is a precise record of a place that changes year by year.

Close-grained lanes
Narrow lanes and small plots fill the locality almost completely, creating one of the finest and most intricate street patterns a map can show.
Links to the city
Wider roads cut through the dense fabric towards central Dhaka and neighbouring areas, giving the composition a few strong lines to follow.
