Narsingdi Map Poster & Print
Narsingdi lies north-east of Dhaka, on low, well-watered land close to the Meghna River. Like many towns in the delta, it is shaped by water. On a map, roads and the railway run on raised alignments across the flat ground, while ponds, canals and seasonal channels fill the spaces between neighbourhoods. The street pattern is irregular, grown gradually around markets, landings and junctions.
The Narsingdi region has long been known for textiles. Handloom and power-loom weaving, dyeing and cloth trading employ many people, and Baburhat near the town is one of the country's best-known wholesale cloth markets. Not far away lies Wari-Bateshwar, an archaeological site where excavations have revealed an ancient fortified settlement, pointing to a much older history of trade in the area.
A Narsingdi map poster brings out the character of a delta town. The Meghna forms a broad edge, the railway gives a firm straight line, and the dense cluster of streets around the markets contrasts with the scattered pattern of ponds and villages further out. The result is detailed and calm, with water always close to the built-up areas.

Railway line
The line connecting Dhaka with the east passes through the town. Its straight course is one of the clearest features on the map, cutting across the irregular street pattern.
Ponds and channels
Numerous ponds and small waterways dot the town and its surroundings. They appear as small, scattered shapes among the streets, a reminder of how closely life here is tied to water.
