Gatineau Map Poster & Print
Gatineau stretches along the north shore of the Ottawa River, directly across from the Canadian capital. The map shows a long, linear city following the water, with the Gatineau River entering from the north and joining the Ottawa in the eastern part of the city. The current city dates from 2002, when Hull, Aylmer, Gatineau and other municipalities were merged, which explains why it has several distinct centres.
The old Hull sector, facing Parliament Hill, is the most tightly built part of the city and is linked to Ottawa by several bridges, including the Alexandra Bridge and the Portage Bridge. The Canadian Museum of History stands on the riverbank here. To the north-west, Gatineau Park covers a large area of forest and lakes, pushing a wedge of wilderness right up to the edge of the urban streets.
A Gatineau map poster captures a city defined by rivers and borders. In black and white, the Ottawa River becomes a wide pale band across the frame, crossed by bridges drawn as fine stitches, and the edge of Gatineau Park adds a stretch of open space to the north. The map shows how closely the city and the capital are bound together.

Hull sector
The compact older district opposite Parliament Hill has the densest street pattern in the city, with office towers, the museum and residential blocks packed tightly along the shore.
Gatineau Park
The park begins close to the urban edge and extends far to the north-west, a large area of forest, lakes and trails that appears as open ground beyond the city streets.
