Hengshan Map Poster & Print
Hengshan is a district of Jixi, a prefecture-level city in eastern Heilongjiang province, not far from China's border with Russia. On a map the built-up area follows the terrain, with residential blocks, roads and railway lines fitted between low hills. The pattern is practical rather than ceremonial, organised by transport and work instead of a single square or old core.
Jixi has long been associated with coal mining, and Hengshan developed as part of that industry. Rail lines, industrial sites and workers' housing are the typical elements of such districts, and on the map they read as long, straight strokes and regular blocks set against the softer outlines of the surrounding countryside.
Eastern Heilongjiang is a region of long winters, wide farmland and forested uplands, and the district sits within that setting at the edge of the city. A Hengshan map poster offers a clear, uncluttered portrait of a working northeastern place, meaningful for anyone whose family history runs through Jixi's mines and neighbourhoods.

Zakaj Hengshan
Zemljevid, ki nekaj pomeni
Many families in northeastern China trace their story through mining towns like Hengshan, and a map of the district can mark that connection more precisely than a photograph. Its orderly pattern suits a minimalist interior.
