Kamyzyak Map Poster & Print
Kamyzyak sits in the Volga delta south of Astrakhan, where the great river splits into hundreds of channels before it reaches the Caspian Sea. The town takes its name from the Kamyzyak, one of those delta branches, and its streets line the water. On a map the land looks less like solid ground and more like a set of islands joined by bridges.
The streets are mostly straight, laid out in blocks on the flat ground, but the waterways cut through them at loose angles, and that gives the plan its character. Beyond the town, channels, oxbow lakes and irrigation ditches spread in every direction. The delta is known for its fishing and for the wild lotus fields that bloom on its shallow waters in summer.
A Kamyzyak map poster is a portrait of water and land in balance. The regular town grid gives the print structure, and the curving delta channels bring movement to every edge of the frame. The subject suits the minimalist approach: there are few landmarks, but the pattern is unmistakably the lower Volga.

Flat street grid
On the level delta ground the streets follow a simple rectangular pattern. It is a calm, orderly contrast to the irregular water all around.
Bridges and crossings
Because water splits the town, bridges are key links in the street network. They show clearly as the points where streets jump from one bank to the next.
