Mymensingh Map Poster & Print
Mymensingh lies on the southern bank of the Old Brahmaputra River in north-central Bangladesh, and the river is the dominant line on its map. The town extends along the bank in a dense pattern of streets and lanes, with the railway running through and ponds scattered among the blocks. Across the water, sandbars and flat farmland stretch away to the north.
The town is the seat of Mymensingh Division, created in 2015, and a long-standing educational centre. Bangladesh Agricultural University occupies a large campus by the river, and the city also has a medical college and other institutions. Shashi Lodge, built by the zamindars of Muktagachha, is one of its best-known historic buildings.
A Mymensingh map poster shows how town and river fit together: the tight streets near the centre, the broad open grounds of the university, the railway line and the long curving bank. The river's width and the flat land beyond give the composition a calm, horizontal balance that suits the black-and-white style.

University campus
Bangladesh Agricultural University covers a large area beside the river at the edge of town, its open fields and internal roads forming a looser pattern than the centre.
Ponds and lanes
Throughout the older districts, ponds sit among the lanes and blocks, small pale shapes that give the map a rhythm common to towns across Bengal.

Generations of students have passed through Mymensingh's university and colleges, and many families trace their roots to the district. A map of the town is a quiet way to remember student years, a family home or the river that runs past both.
