Şile Map Poster & Print
Şile lies on the Black Sea coast at the far north-eastern edge of Istanbul province, well away from the city's dense centre. On a map, the town fills a low headland. Its streets curve around the slope and drop towards a small harbour. Sandy beaches run off to either side, and a rocky islet with the remains of a castle sits just offshore.
The town is known for Şile bezi, a light, crinkled cotton cloth woven here for generations. It is also known for its lighthouse, a stone tower from the nineteenth century that still stands on the cliff above the harbour. Behind the coast the land turns green and hilly, cut by small streams and forest roads.
A Şile map poster sets the town's tight grid of streets against the empty sweep of the sea. That contrast is especially clear in the Noir and Blueprint styles. The coastline is the strongest line on the sheet. It is ragged around the headland and smooth along the beaches, and it frames everything else in the drawing.

Harbour and lighthouse
The small harbour tucks into the headland, and the historic lighthouse stands on the cliff above it, overlooking the approaches from the Black Sea.
Long beaches
Wide sandy beaches stretch away on both sides of the town. On the poster they form long, gentle curves against the water.

Zakaj Şile
Zemljevid, ki nekaj pomeni
For many Istanbul families, Şile means summer weekends, fresh fish and cool sea air. A map of the town works as a quiet souvenir of those trips, and as a way to keep some coast in a flat that looks onto concrete.
Add your own title, a subtitle such as a summer year, and the coordinates. Then pick one of five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Sand suits the beaches particularly well.
