Slidell Map Poster & Print
Slidell sits on the north-eastern shore of Lake Pontchartrain in St. Tammany Parish, across the water from New Orleans. The map is defined by water. The lake runs along the southern edge, bayous wind through neighbourhoods, and wide marshes stretch east toward the Pearl River and the Mississippi state line. Streets and subdivisions fill the higher ground in between.
The town is a crossroads for Interstates 10, 12 and 59, and their broad curves cut clearly across the map. To the south, the long twin bridges of I-10 carry traffic across the lake toward New Orleans East. Hurricane Katrina struck Slidell hard in 2005 and flooded many homes. Much of the town has since been rebuilt.
A Slidell map poster turns this mix of land and water into a detailed design. In black and white, the lakeshore, the curling bayous and the narrow canals of waterfront subdivisions stand out. They contrast with the straight lines of the highways and the grid of Olde Towne, the historic district near the railroad.

Bayous and canals
Winding bayous and straight, narrow canals run through residential areas, giving many neighbourhoods waterfront lots. They fill the map with intricate curves.
Interstate junction
Interstates 10, 12 and 59 meet around the town. Their wide ramps and long curves are the strongest lines in the composition.

Zakaj Slidell
Zemljevid, ki nekaj pomeni
Slidell draws people who want the space and water of the north shore while staying close to New Orleans, and many families have roots going back generations. A map of the town honours the street by the bayou, the fishing spot and the neighbourhood rebuilt after the storm.
