The state line
The city's northern boundary follows the Tennessee–Mississippi border, a straight line on paper that the street network mostly ignores, running unbroken from Memphis into Southaven.

Southaven Map Poster & Print
Southaven begins where Memphis ends. Its northern edge follows the state line between Tennessee and Mississippi, and from above the change is hard to spot: the same suburban streets simply continue south into DeSoto County. On a map the city reads as a broad patchwork of residential blocks, cul-de-sacs and commercial strips, with the interstates giving the whole composition its main lines.
The busiest routes run north to south, carrying traffic between Memphis and northern Mississippi, while wider arterials cross them at regular intervals. The side streets between those arterials curve and loop in the way of postwar and late-century subdivisions. To the west the land drops toward the low floodplain of the Mississippi River, where the street pattern thins and the open ground takes over.
A Southaven map poster keeps that interplay of straight highways and softer neighbourhood curves. In black and white the interchanges become crisp knots of line, and the residential loops fill the spaces between them with fine texture. It is a portrait of a place shaped by its position just across a state border from a much larger city.

Interstate spine
Major interstate routes cut through the city north to south, and their interchanges form the strongest, most geometric shapes on the poster.
Subdivision loops
Between the arterials, curving streets and cul-de-sacs fill each block, giving the map a dense, almost woven texture typical of the American suburb.
