The historic centre shows narrow, closely spaced streets, a denser pattern that stands out against the larger blocks of the newer districts around it.

Xiangcheng Map Poster & Print
Xiangcheng is a county town in central Henan, southwest of Xuchang, on the wide plain that forms the heartland of the Central Plains. The ground is almost flat, and the map is dominated by straight lines: long avenues crossing at right angles, newer districts laid out in large blocks, and rural roads running out to villages in every direction.
This part of Henan has been settled for thousands of years, and Xiangcheng carries a long record in Chinese historical sources. On the map, the older part of the town reads as a tighter, finer weave of streets, while development of recent decades has added broad roads and larger plots around it, extending the town outward across former fields.
A Xiangcheng map poster works as a study in scale: fine lanes at the centre, wide avenues around them, and a quiet field pattern beyond. Rivers of the Huai basin cross this plain, and a watercourse near the town adds a single soft curve to an otherwise geometric composition.

New avenues
Broad roads laid out in recent decades cross the town in long straight runs, giving the map its strongest lines and a clear sense of structure.
Plain farmland
Beyond the built-up area the flat countryside is divided into regular fields and village roads, a calm pattern that continues to the edge of the map.
