Le faʻafanua
Supía lies in north-western Caldas, in the mountainous coffee-growing country of Colombia's Andes. The town covers a valley floor and the slopes above it, so its streets have to follow the terrain. A grid around the main square gives way quickly to roads that bend along the hillsides and climb toward outlying farms.
Supía is known across Colombia for its colaciones, a traditional sweet made in the town and celebrated at an annual festival. The municipality is also home to long-established indigenous communities. Smallholdings, coffee plots and patches of forest dot the surrounding hills, reached by winding rural roads.
A Supía map poster shows how a colonial-style street plan meets mountain topography. The plaza sits at the centre of the composition. Streets fan out from it and then twist into the hills, while the valley gives the whole scene a clear direction. In black and white, the dense core stands out sharply against the open slopes.
The main square anchors a compact grid of blocks at the heart of town. The traditional Spanish-colonial layout is still clearly visible from above.
Beyond the grid, streets and rural roads bend with the slopes. They trace the shape of the hillsides in long curving lines that give the print movement.
The town lies in a valley between steep ridges. Building is concentrated on the valley floor, and the edges of the frame open into rural hills.

Aisea Supía
People from Supía keep a strong sense of home, whether they still live under those hills or have moved to Medellín, Bogotá or abroad. A precise map of the town is a quiet reminder of the plaza, the festival and the roads up to the farms.
The title, subtitle and coordinates line are yours to change, for example a family name or the year someone left. Choose from Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Paper gives the mountain streets a soft, handmade feel.
