Le faʻafanua
Tsu is the capital of Mie Prefecture and lies along the western shore of Ise Bay. On the map it forms a long band running north to south, with the coastline on one side and the rising ground of the interior on the other. Several rivers cross this band from west to east, cutting the city into sections before they reach the sea.
The city's name is often noted as one of the shortest place names in Japan, written in Japanese with a single kana character. Its historic core grew around Tsu Castle, whose moat and stone walls survive in a park near the centre. Around that core, streets settle into a modest grid, with railway lines running parallel to the coast and linking the city to Nagoya and Osaka.
A Tsu map poster shows a place defined by the meeting of plain and sea. The straight edge of the shoreline, the river mouths opening into the bay and the castle grounds near the centre give the composition clear anchors, while the quieter residential streets fill the space between them with fine, even texture.
The eastern edge of the map is a long, gently curving coastline, with beaches and harbour areas that give the whole city a firm, clean boundary against open water.
Near the centre, the remaining moat and grounds of Tsu Castle form a compact geometric shape, a reminder of the castle town from which the modern city grew.
Rivers descend from the western hills and cross the city toward the bay, dividing neighbourhoods into distinct strips and adding dark diagonal lines to the street pattern.

Aisea Tsu
Tsu appeals to those with a personal tie to Mie: students, officials who worked in the prefectural capital, or families from the coast. The map records a calm, orderly city by the sea without relying on famous skylines, which is exactly why it feels personal.
The title, subtitle and coordinates line can all be edited, so the poster can mark a hometown, a posting or a year. Choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand; Sand in particular echoes the long coastline along the bay.
