Hill-shaped streets
The streets curve around hills and follow valley floors rather than forming a strict grid. The terrain is clearly visible in the pattern of the roads.

Mapa
Bachuan Map Poster & Print
Bachuan is the main urban area of Tongliang District in western Chongqing. On the map, it lies in the rolling hills that cover much of the Sichuan Basin. The streets do not follow a simple grid. They bend around hills and follow the valleys, while small streams and reservoirs fill the lower ground.
Newer districts have grown with wider roads and larger blocks, and expressways connect the town to central Chongqing. Around the urban area, terraced fields, low ridges and small villages cover the land in a fine, irregular pattern. Tongliang is widely known for its traditional dragon dance, which is part of China's intangible cultural heritage.
A Bachuan map poster shows a city shaped by hills. Compact old streets, newer blocks and the curves of the land make an organic, varied composition. It is a quiet, personal subject for those who come from this part of Chongqing.

Streams and reservoirs
Small waterways and reservoirs occupy the lower ground around the town. They add soft, irregular shapes between the built-up areas.
Newer districts
Recent development brings wider roads and larger blocks at the edges of the town. They contrast with the denser, more irregular streets of the older centre.
