River confluence
The Big Blue and Kansas rivers meet on the east side of town, drawing two bold curved lines that frame the grid and give the map its strongest natural feature.

Mapa
Manhattan Map Poster & Print
Manhattan, Kansas, calls itself the Little Apple, and its map explains the setting rather well. The city lies where the Big Blue River joins the Kansas River, with rolling Flint Hills rising around it. The Kansas River curves along the southern and eastern edges, while the Big Blue, dammed upstream to form Tuttle Creek Lake, arrives from the north.
The street plan is a Midwestern grid, orderly downtown and loosening into curving subdivisions on the hills to the west. Kansas State University occupies a large block northwest of the centre, its paths and buildings forming a distinct pattern of their own. Between campus and downtown, the compact Aggieville district adds a dense knot of short blocks.
A Manhattan map poster captures a town shaped by water, prairie and a university. Fort Riley lies just to the west, and the Konza Prairie research area stretches south of the river, so the edges of the map shift quickly from streets to open, unbroken land. It is a portrait of a small city with very clear borders.

Kansas State campus
The university grounds form a large, distinctive block of paths, quads and buildings northwest of downtown, instantly recognisable to anyone who studied or worked there.
Tuttle Creek Lake
North of the city, the reservoir on the Big Blue River spreads as a long, branching body of water, balancing the tight street grid with a wide open shape.

Zašto Manhattan
Mapa koja nešto znači
Manhattan is a place people pass through at important moments: four years of study, a posting at Fort Riley, a first job. A map of the city marks that chapter on a wall, whether it hangs in a dorm room, a family home or an office far from Kansas.
Add a graduation year, a class name or a personal line to the title and subtitle, and keep or edit the coordinates. Choose from Classic black and white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Download HD files for $9, or order a printed poster shipped from partners in over 30 countries.
