Kecskemét Map Poster & Print
Kecskemét lies in the middle of the Great Hungarian Plain, between the Danube and the Tisza, roughly halfway along the route from Budapest to Szeged. On a map its most striking feature is the radial pattern: roads come in from every direction across the flat land and meet in a string of connected squares at the heart of the city, enclosed by an inner ring road.
Those central squares hold some of Hungary's best-known Art Nouveau buildings, including the Town Hall and the Cifrapalota with its coloured ceramic tiles. The composer Zoltán Kodály was born here, and the Kodály Institute continues his work in music education. Around the centre, a second ring of boulevards and a wide belt of residential streets spread out toward the fields.
The countryside around Kecskemét is known for apricots and the pálinka distilled from them, and a large Mercedes-Benz factory has added a new, geometric block to the outskirts. A Kecskemét map poster gathers the radial streets, the rings and the plain beyond into a balanced, almost star-like image.

Ring roads
An inner ring encircles the historic centre and a wider ring runs further out, giving the street network a clear concentric structure that reads well at any size.
Radial roads
Long straight roads fan out from the centre toward Budapest, Szeged and other towns of the plain, like spokes of a wheel across open farmland.
