From above, it appears as a compact town where regular streets meet farmland, with the Mapocho River running along its northern side and the peaks of the Andes and the coastal range visible in the distance.
The town has grown as part of the wider metropolitan area, with residential developments spreading outward while agricultural land still surrounds it.
