Stoughton is a town in Norfolk County, Massachusetts, about twenty miles south of Boston. Its map follows an older New England pattern rather than a grid. Historic roads radiate from a central square, meeting at irregular angles, while newer residential streets fill the spaces between them. Ponds, wetlands and conservation land add open shapes across the town.
The town has a commuter rail station, and the railway line gives the map one of its clearest long lines, connecting Stoughton's centre with Boston.
