Curving suburban streets
Residential streets bend into crescents and loops rather than a strict grid, the typical pattern of the postwar era, and on paper they give the map a rhythmic texture.

Terrytown Map Poster & Print
Terrytown is a community in Jefferson Parish, Louisiana, on the West Bank of the Mississippi River opposite New Orleans. It grew mostly in the second half of the twentieth century, and the map shows it. Instead of the old city's tight blocks and river-hugging streets, the neighbourhoods here are laid out in the gentle curves and loops typical of planned American suburbs.
The ground is flat and low, and water shapes the plan in quieter ways than in the city across the river. Drainage canals run in straight lines between neighbourhoods and along major roads, part of the system that keeps this part of southern Louisiana dry. A Terrytown map poster shows those channels as long, precise strokes set against the softer residential curves.
Terrytown borders the city of Gretna, and major roads connect it to the Mississippi River bridges and downtown New Orleans. Widen the frame and the great bend of the river starts to appear, a reminder of how close the suburb is to one of the best-known waterfronts in the country, even though its own streets feel removed from it.

Drainage canals
Straight canals run through and around the neighbourhoods, drawing clean lines across the low ground and quietly explaining how this landscape stays habitable.
West Bank setting
Terrytown lies across the Mississippi from New Orleans, next to Gretna. A wider frame brings the river's bend and the routes toward the bridges into view.

Kwa nini Terrytown
Ramani yenye maana
Many people remember the West Bank as the place where they grew up, went to school or owned a first house. A Terrytown map marks that place precisely, a neighbourhood that rarely appears on printed maps but meant everything to the people who lived there.
Set the title and a subtitle, perhaps a street name or the year you moved in, and choose from Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Download the HD files for $9 or order a matte print with an optional wooden frame.
