Hairpin roads
The approach roads climb the ridge in tight switchbacks. They form the most dramatic curves on the map and trace the steepness of the hill.

Tānsen Map Poster & Print
Tānsen, the centre of Palpa District, sits high on a ridge of the Mahabharat range in western Nepal. The terrain shapes everything on the map. Roads switchback up the hillside in tight hairpins, the old town packs itself onto the slope in steep, narrow lanes, and the built-up area thins quickly where the ground drops into the valleys below.
The town has a strong Newar heritage visible in its brick houses, temples and the old palace square, Tansen Durbar. It is also known across Nepal for Palpali dhaka, a woven cloth used for the traditional topi cap. Down in the Kali Gandaki valley, the palace of Rani Mahal stands by the river.
A Tānsen map poster turns all that height into line. Curves stack up where the road climbs, lanes fold into one another, and the result feels closer to a contour drawing than a flat street plan.

Old town lanes
Narrow stepped streets run around the durbar square. The historic core stands out as a dense, irregular knot.
Ridge and valleys
Settlement follows the ridgeline and ends where slopes fall away. The empty space around the town reveals the shape of the hills.

Tanba sa Tānsen
Mapa ida ho signifikadu
Tānsen is a fine choice for travellers who walked its steep lanes, trekkers passing through Palpa, and Nepali families from the region. The winding roads give the poster a graceful, almost hand-drawn movement.
Personalise the title, a subtitle such as a trip date, and the coordinates line. Choose from five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Buy the HD files for $9 or order a print, with an optional wooden frame.
