Batumi sits at the southeastern corner of the Black Sea, only a few kilometres from the Turkish border, in the Georgian region of Adjara. From above, the coast is the dominant shape. A long, gently curved shoreline of shingle beaches runs past the city, and the harbour juts out at its northern end.
Behind the port, the old town is a compact grid of nineteenth-century blocks. Next to it, the seafront boulevard runs for kilometres along the beach through parks and paths. To the south, the city continues in newer districts toward the mouth of the Chorokhi River. Green hills rise to the east, and the botanical garden sits on a cape to the north.
Over the past two decades, Batumi has added towers, fountains and landmarks such as the Alphabet Tower on the waterfront. A Batumi map poster sets all of this within a simple frame: sea on one side, hills on the other, and a regular city filling the strip between them.

Old town grid
Near the port, the historic centre forms a neat grid of short blocks. It is one of the most legible parts of the map and shows the city's nineteenth-century trading growth.
Harbour and cape
The harbour's breakwaters mark the northern end of the bay. Further north, the coast bends toward the botanical garden on its green headland.
