Campi Bisenzio lies on the flat plain between Florence and Prato, and its shape follows the river it is named after. The Bisenzio passes through the centre between raised embankments, and the historic core sits close to its banks. Around it, residential districts, industrial zones and farmland stretch across the plain, crossed by long, straight drainage channels and roads.
The older part of town includes the Rocca Strozzi, a fortified residence associated with the Florentine Strozzi family, near the river.
