Câmpia Turzii sits in the southeast of Cluj County, on the low, open land that gives the town its name, which translates roughly as the plain of Turda. From above, it has none of the tight folds of a hill town. Streets spread across level ground, and the built-up area meets farmland at fairly clear edges, so the town reads as a single compact shape set among fields.
The Arieș River runs close to the town, and its winding course and wooded banks make the softest line on the map.
