Debila lies in El Oued Province in northeastern Algeria, in the Souf region of the Sahara. The landscape around it is sand, and the map reflects that. The town forms a compact cluster of streets, and regional roads run out across a largely empty surface. Farmland and palm groves appear as scattered patches near the built-up area.
The Souf is known for its distinctive traditions of oasis farming and its domed architecture, which gave El Oued the nickname the city of a thousand domes. Debila shares that regional character.
