Fernie Map Poster & Print
Fernie is a rural community in the east of Mpumalanga, South Africa, in the high, rolling country that extends toward the border with Eswatini. From above, it looks quite unlike a conventional town. Homes and yards are spread across the landscape in loose clusters, joined by gravel roads and tracks rather than arranged around a formal central grid.
The surrounding land is a mix of grassland and cultivated fields, with streams running through shallow valleys between gentle ridges. On a map this produces an open, airy composition. The few main roads stand out as long, confident lines, and the smaller tracks branch off them like the veins of a leaf.
Places like Fernie rarely appear on souvenirs, yet they are home to many families whose ties to the land go back generations. A Fernie map poster offers a respectful, simple way to show that home: the roads people travel each day, the spread of houses and the wide landscape around them.

Gravel roads
A handful of main roads cross the area, with smaller tracks branching from them to reach individual homesteads, forming a branching network across the open land.
Highveld landscape
Gentle ridges, shallow stream valleys and wide fields surround the community, typical of the eastern Mpumalanga highveld and giving the map generous open space.
