Ho lies in eastern Ghana, the capital of the Volta Region and a short distance from the border with Togo. The town sits in a valley with hills rising close by, and on the map its streets spread across the lower ground while the higher slopes remain largely open.
Mount Adaklu stands to the south of the town, and the ranges to the north and east make the setting of Ho one of the more distinctive in southern Ghana. The town is an administrative and educational centre and an important place for the Ewe people of the region.
