Idiofa is a town in Kwilu Province in the south-west of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. It is also the administrative centre of the surrounding territory of the same name. The region is made up of plateaus and valleys, with open savanna on the higher ground and forest along the watercourses. The town lies on that higher, drier land.
From above, Idiofa is a spread-out settlement rather than a dense one. Unpaved roads divide it into loose blocks, houses are set on generous plots, and the edges fade gradually into the landscape.
