Kamuli Map Poster
Kamuli is a town in the Busoga subregion of eastern Uganda, north of Jinja, in a landscape of low ridges, swamps and cultivated fields. From above, its centre is a modest cluster of streets around the main trading area. The network loosens quickly into scattered homesteads and plots. The Victoria Nile flows along the west of the wider district on its way toward Lake Kyoga.
The town is the headquarters of Kamuli District and a market and service centre for the surrounding farming communities, where maize, cassava and sugarcane are common crops. It is also linked with Bugabula, one of the historic chiefdoms of Busoga. Much of daily life depends on the roads that connect Kamuli with Jinja and other towns in the region.

Principal roads leave the centre toward Jinja and neighbouring districts. They cross the frame in strong lines and connect the town to the wider region.
Rural edge
