Korsimoro lies in Sanmatenga Province, in the Centre-Nord region of Burkina Faso, on the road between Ouagadougou and Kaya. The surrounding country is a flat to gently rolling savanna, and from above the town is a loose cluster of compounds and streets, with dirt tracks spreading out toward the villages that make up the wider commune.
As in much of rural Burkina Faso, life here follows the rainy and dry seasons. Farmland surrounds the settlement, with sorghum and millet grown in the wet months, and small reservoirs and seasonal streams play an important role in holding water through the long dry season.
