Historic core
The oldest part of town appears as a small knot of irregular streets, noticeably finer and denser than the districts that grew up around it.

Marano di Napoli Map Poster & Print
Marano di Napoli lies on the hills just north-west of Naples, and from above it is hard to see where one ends and the other begins. The town has grown steadily outward across the slopes. Its map combines an older, irregular core with a large ring of newer housing, winding hillside roads and wider routes that carry traffic down toward the metropolitan centre.
The terrain gives the street pattern its character. Roads bend to follow the contours, some neighbourhoods are packed onto terraces, and pockets of green and farmland remain between the built-up areas. These surviving fields show on the map as lighter spaces among the denser fabric of streets, a trace of the countryside the town grew out of.
A Marano di Napoli map poster is a portrait of a place shaped by the hills it sits on and by its closeness to a great city. In monochrome, the contrast between tight lanes, curving roads and open patches becomes the whole design, and no landmarks are needed to make it recognisable.

Hillside roads
Streets curve and switch back as they follow the slopes. This gives the map a flowing quality quite different from the flat grids along the coast.
Edge of the metropolis
Toward the south-east, the built-up area runs almost seamlessly into the outskirts of Naples. This continuous urban fabric fills the lower part of the frame.
