Monthey Map Poster & Print
Monthey lies on the western side of the Rhône valley in the canton of Valais. It sits where the Vièze river comes out of the Val d'Illiez. On a map, the town fills a fan of level ground at the foot of the mountains, with the broad, flat Rhône plain opening to the east.
A large chemical industrial site lies beside the town. Its big buildings and internal roads form a distinct block next to the residential streets. The historic centre, near the river, has a closer, older street pattern, and newer districts spread across the plain.
A Monthey map poster brings together the valley floor, the steep slopes, the side valley and the river crossing the town. It gives a clear picture of how an Alpine town fits into its setting.
