Mors sits in the middle of the Limfjord, the long waterway that crosses northern Jutland. From above the island is broad and compact, with a coastline of shallow bays, spits and small inlets. Farmland covers most of the interior, cut up by country roads that run between villages and converge on the one real town.
That town is Nykøbing Mors, on the east coast facing the Sallingsund. Its small grid of streets and its harbour are the densest part of any map of the island. Two bridges link Mors to the mainland: the Sallingsund Bridge to the southeast and the Vilsund Bridge to the northwest, both drawn as thin lines across the fjord.
The north coast is known for moler, a pale clay made of fossil diatoms that forms striking layered cliffs, with Hanklit the best-known exposure. A Mors map poster shows the whole island sitting in its fjord, wrapped in water that is part sea, part lake, with each bay and road clearly defined.

Two fjord bridges
The Sallingsund and Vilsund bridges are the island's only fixed links. On the map they appear as two slim crossings at opposite corners, holding Mors in place within the Limfjord.
Moler cliffs
Along the north coast, cliffs of pale diatomite clay show folded layers and bands of volcanic ash. On the map this stretch reads as a steeper, straighter edge than the soft bays elsewhere.
